Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), an RN, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her birthplace was in Michigan's Huntington Woods with an Polish mother and a father who was German, English Irish, Scottish and Irish. Kristen discovered her passion for entertainment at an early stage of her life. Her audition was in 1992, and was then offered a role on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell's mother introduced her to an agent prior to her turning 13, and she got her first role for television and newspaper commercials. She is now also taking private acting lessons. Bell played a brief, uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was part of the music and drama groups of Shrine Catholic High School. Bell was chosen to play the lead role of Dorothy at her school's play The Wizard of Oz. Bell then moved into New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She studied musical theater at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell quit university in 2001 to take on the role Becky of Tom Sawyer. In 2001, she was the first to make her credit debut playing the character of Becky Pootie Tang. But, her scene was cut out of the movie and she was not even on the screen credits. Bell appeared on Broadway on Broadway in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
